We want every member involved here at CITN. Through your commitment to service you will help build community, build relationships, and minister to others. Through your regular attendance in the service, your commitment to support the ministry with your finances, and your service in a volunteer position you will both strengthen the "family" at CITN as well as personally enlarge your capacity for receiving and accomplishing.

Below you will find a list and description of areas of volunteer ministry where you can become involved. E.A.C.H.™ volunteer positions are at least once per month.

ADVENTURELAND & DREAMLAND (ages 0-5)

All interested parties must fill out an application and release form for a background check.

CLASSROOM HOST

The Classroom Host will have the classroom set up and ready to open 40 minutes before the service starts. Implements all learning activity centers assigned by Master Teacher. Checks the Security Card from the adult picking up the child at checkout, hands out crafts and color pages and communicates any necessary information to the parents.

CLASSROOM MONITOR

The Classroom Monitor checks in with the Classroom Host, and assists them before, during and after the service with the children as well as preparation and cleanup. Plays with and helps calm distressed children as they come in. Helps with keeping order during service time, snack time and dismissal. Assists in serving snacks and taking children to the bathroom. Stacks chairs and helps with clean up after service. Report your anticipated absences and who will be substituting in your place to the Service Coordinator and Preschool Director.

RESOURCE CENTER

The Resource Center Attendant is responsible for setting up each preschool and nursery room 30 minutes prior to the arrival of teachers and children. We provide them with a craft, coloring sheet and videos as well as snacks and lemonade. Attendants return these same items back to the Resource Center following the service.

KIOSK OPERATOR

Kiosk Operators will check all children in and print the name and security tags. Kiosk operators must be friendly, have basic computer skills and have a working knowledge of all children’s classroom’s and their locations. Kiosks open 30 minutes prior to all service starting times.

KIDS IN THE NOW (ages 6 years - 5th grade)

ASSISTANT TEACHER

Assistant Teachers are given lesson segments to teach each month. Gets involved with what is going on in the service. Is an example of a worshipper, and prays for the service. Workers are expected to be at your assigned post thirty minutes before starting time and remain until the Floor Coordinator releases you.

CLASSROOM MONITOR

Classroom Monitors are responsible for always making the kids feel welcome and important. Is friendly to the children, talking to them before and after class. Monitors stand along the aisles during the service actively monitoring children’s behavior looking for potential problems. Prays for the service. Your sensitivity to the leading and prompting of the Spirit can make a big difference in the accomplishments of each service.

PRAISE AND WORSHIP LEADER

The Praise and Worship Leader is responsible for selecting praise and worship songs and getting songs, words, and charts to the Media Department. The Praise and Worship Leader rehearses weekly with the musicians, singers and K-Team Praizers.

SOUND MIXER

Sound mixing of live music, tracks, video and voice for church services to be heard by the congregation of KITN. Mixers will have some experience and understanding of soundboards as well as a good ear. You must arrive 30 minutes prior to service time for set up and preparation.

LIGHTING OPERATOR

Programs and operates a lighting console for live presentations of church services. You must arrive 30 minutes prior to service time for set up and preparation. No experience necessary.

PROJECTION

Organizes and displays computer graphics and video presentations during church services. Operators should be comfortable with computer file structure (searching, copying, pasting, organizing, etc.). You must arrive 30 minutes prior to service time for set up and preparation.

PUPPET DIRECTOR

The Puppet Director oversees the practicing of skits and songs that have been assigned for weekly services or performances. It is the job of the Puppet Ministry Director to supervise the care and storage of the puppets before and after practice and services.

DRAMA DIRECTOR

The Drama Director keeps track of the attendance of the children and casts all parts. They oversee the practicing of skits that have been assigned for weekly services or performances.

NO LIMITS ZONE WORKER

The No Limits Zone worker is responsible for helping children purchase items from the store. Workers will update zone point accounts for the children and help to restock shelves after the No Limits Zone is closed.

 FLOOR COORDINATOR

The Floor Coordinator functions as the head monitor for the service they supervise. Floor Coordinators are responsible for placing all monitors where needed throughout the class. The Floor coordinator assigns cleanup duties and will be available to assist the Master Teacher or Children’s Pastor before, during and after their service. All discipline problems should be directed to the Floor Coordinator.

THE MIX(student ministries grades 6-12)

All job descriptions apply to Wednesday night Mix services and Sunday morning Wired services unless otherwise noted. All interested parties must fill out an application and release form for a background check.

SOUND TECHNICIAN

Sound mixing of live music and vocals for youth services and special events. Must have some understanding of soundboards, but are willing to train if needed. Responsible for all microphone/stage setup. Starts one hour before service.

LIGHT TECHNICIAN

Programs and operates a light board during youth services and special events. Willing to train if needed. Starts one hour before service.

VIDEO/COMPUTER OPERATOR

Prepares all music videos/video clips needed for service. Operates PowerPoint presentations needed for service, including the word templates for praise and worship. Must have a general understanding of Microsoft PowerPoint, and be able to multi-task. Starts one hour before service.

PHOTOGRAPHER

Takes pictures of services, special events and various other activities to be used for website, brochures and other promotional items.

GRAPHICS

Puts together videos/presentations etc. for youth services. May require filming off campus at various times. Also responsible for taping special videos for upcoming sermon illustrations and creating animated announcements for TV screens.

REGISTRATION/CHECK-IN

Operates a touch-screen computer to check students into church database. Starts one hour before service.

VISITOR TABLE

Monitors students coming in and helps introduce the first time visitors. Assists first time visitors with the information card, and familiarizes them with the service structure and facility. Efficiency is a must, good people skills preferred.

GREETER

Greets students as they come in, directing them to the registration booth and passing out any handouts. Good people skills preferred.

Kiosk operators check in all students. Kiosk operators must be friendly, have basic computer skills and have a working knowledge of the student’s ministries. The Kiosk open 30 minutes prior to all service starting times.

CAFÉ SERVERS

Take orders and deliver food to customers. Must be able to make change quickly and multi-task.

CAFÉ COOKS

Prepare food and put together orders for Mix services on Wednesday night and Wired services on Sunday morning.

SINGERS / MUSICIANS

We are always looking for singers and musicians to add to our bands for Wednesday night services and Sunday morning services. Tryouts are required when positions become available. For singing positions in band, singers are picked from The Mix choir. The choir practices every Sunday from 5-6:30pm and are always ready to accept new members.

FACILITY SECURITY

Responsible for monitoring parking lot/basketball courts/side of building before and after Mix services on Wednesday night and Wired services on Sunday morning. Monitors interior of building including foyer, game room, sanctuary and jam room.

FLOOR SECURITY

Observe students during youth service for the purpose of keeping order and stopping any disturbance. Covers areas as directed by Floor Coordinator.

TRAFFIC SECURITY

Directs incoming and outgoing traffic throughout FLC parking lot for Mix services on Wednesday night and Wired services on Sunday morning. We will also need help during special events, as notified. BUS DRIVERS Drivers with a CDL license drive a large bus for long trips and retreats. For local trips we need drivers for a 15-passenger bus/van to local spots for special events. CDL not required for local trips, but must know how to drive a big vehicle. Will train if needed.

Outreach Ministries

 

Street Jam

All interested parties must fill out an application and release form for a background check.

BUS DRIVERS

CDL required. Drivers must be available at 6pm on Wednesday evening for student pickup and after service for student drop-off. Usually finished by 9:30. We ask that each driver be available once or twice per month.

BUS MONITORS

Street jam is in need of bus monitors for Wednesday night service. Monitors are asked to be on campus no later than 5:50 pm for student pickup. Bus monitors stay with the students at the mix service in the FLC and ride the bus after service for student drop-off. We ask that each monitor is available twice per month.

Prison Ministry

Any positions that require certification, those forms can be picked up at the Church In The Now E.A.C.H.™ Center in the foyer.

LIFE SKILLS TEACHER

All teachers are required to be consistent and dependable. Instructors are required to attend certification training and have a state background check. Classes must have a formal syllabus and be approved by ministry leadership. Subjects taught include:

  • Health – Personal Hygiene, Healthy Eating
  • Personal Finance
  • Stress Management
  • Self Esteem
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Parenting

BIBLE STUDY TEACHERS

All teachers required to be consistent and dependable. Candidates must attend certification training and have state background check. Classes must have formal syllabus and be approved by ministry leadership.

MUSICIANS, DANCERS, AND SINGERS

Needed to minister at YDC cook outs or adult facilities periodically without certification. A state background check is required. If the candidate plans to attend regularly certification is required.

PREACHERS

Needed to minister at YDC cook outs or adult facilities periodically without certification. A state background check is required. If the candidate plans to attend regularly certification is required.

FUND RAISING PERSONNEL

Volunteers needed to assist in determining and facilitating yearly fund raising activities.

MENTORS

All mentors are required to be consistent and dependable. Candidates must attend certification training and have state background check.

PEN PALS

Write inmates for Christian fellowship. Volunteers must follow guidelines. No background check or certification required.

REPORTERS

Attend activities and or interview those that do for the purpose of writing articles for the newsletter.

CAMERA PERSON

Takes pictures and videos of Prison Ministry events for the newsletter and promotional purposes.

DONATION COORDINATOR(S)

Solicit, collect, inventory, sort, package, and coordinate the delivery of donated items.

MACON YDC COORDINATOR

Coordinates monthly activities, and cook-outs.

TRANSPORTATION COORDINATOR

Manages the status of the vehicles. Keeps approved driver list current, tracks keys, manages maintenance, and keeps the vehicle to be used clean.

MEETING SET-UP COORDINATOR

Reserves the room, coordinates food and sets up the meeting space for various Now Prison Ministry meetings.

INTERPRETERS

Skilled individuals to interpret services for the hearing impaired. Sunday 11:00 am services.

Spanish Interpretation

INTERPRETERS

Individual must speak fluent Spanish and be able to interpret Bishop Swilley for the Spanish-speaking people via headsets during the Sunday 11:00 am service.

WORSHIP AND ARTS MINISTRY

 

N.O.W. SINGERS & BAND

All Praise Team singers and Band members are appointed by Pastor Jimmie as needed. Band rehearsals every Thursday morning 9-12 AM and evening 7-9 PM. Praise Team rehearses every Thursday evening 6:30-9 PM. All are required to attend sound-check on Sunday AM at 10 AM as well as minister at all scheduled services.

N.O.W. CHOIR

Choir members required to attend rehearsals every Thursday evening 7-8:30 PM, sound-checks on Sunday mornings at 10 AM, and sing every Sunday at the 11 AM service and the first Sunday evening service of each month. Auditions required – held every Thursday evening at the end of choir rehearsal.

N.O.W. GOSPEL

Members must be part of N.O.W. choir. Rehearsals 2 nd and 4 th Thursday evening of each month from 8-9 PM, sing at least once every 4-6 weeks. Auditions required – held every Thursday evening at the end of choir rehearsal.

N.O.W. CHORALE

Members must be part of N.O.W. choir. Rehearsals 1 st and 3 rd Thursday evening of each month from 8-9 PM, sing at least once every 4-6 weeks. Auditions required – held every Thursday evening at the end of choir rehearsal.

DANCE / MIME

Experience and training required. Auditions required. Rehearsal times TBA soon.

DRAMATIC ARTS

Actors/actresses, comedians, voice-over talent, directors/producers, writers, set design/construction, costume design all needed. Should have some experience. Auditions or interviews required. All ages. Rehearsal times TBA soon.

VISUAL ARTS / GRAPHICS

Graphic artists needed to help improve visual image of CITN through marketing and in-house print needs. Creativity and computer graphic experience required. Must have computer and professional graphics software. PC / Mac

THE FLOW

To be involved, come to the open mic poetry nights the first Friday night of each month at 7 PM in the CITN Café.

LIGHTING (OPERATOR)

Programming and operating lighting console for live presentations of church services and/or concerts. Experience desirable but not required. Possibly an entry-level position. Starts one to two hours prior to service.

LIGHTING (RIGGING AND AIMING)

Hanging, aiming and maintaining stage lights for the main sanctuary. Experience desirable but not required. Possibly an entry-level position. Agility and comfort with heights are helpful. Non-service times.

STAGE HANDS

Behind-the-scenes work on stage. Preparing microphones, floor monitors, stage props, curtains, furniture, etc. before and during church services and concerts. Agility and good physical control are helpful. The “clumsy” should not apply. Possibly an entry-level position. Starts one to two hours prior to service.

PROJECTION

Organizing and displaying computer graphics and live cameras during church services and concerts. Should be comfortable with computer file structure (searching, copying, pasting, organizing, etc.) Possibly an entry-level position. Starts one to two hours prior to service.

CAMERA OPERATOR

Smooth operation of professional TV camera for the purpose of live web-casting and recording to DVD. Possibly an entry-level position. Starts 30 minutes prior to church service.

TV DIRECTOR

Must have experience and understanding of video switchers, camera operation, video and audio broadcasting, and communication skills. This is not an entry-level position. Starts one hour prior to service.

VIDEO ENGINEERING

Set up and tear down of TV cameras and gear and/or controlling camera “levels” during service. Also responsible for recording to videotape and DVD. This is a highly technical position. Experience desirable but not required. Starts one to two hours prior to service.

CABLE GRIP

Controls cable “slack” for roaming TV camera. Should be small in stature and able to sit on the floor comfortably in order to minimize audience distraction during service. Responsible teenagers welcome. This is an entry-level position. Starts 30 minutes prior to service.

VIDEO EDITOR

For video/audio presentations, TV spots, TV shows, etc. Experience required. Church has some gear, but it would be better if you have Final Cut, Avid, etc. Please supply demo reel.

WIRING

Off-hour wiring, crimping, and soldering of all systems: Video, audio, electrical (low voltage), networks, etc.

NETWORKING

Off-hour setup and maintenance of internal network (intranet/wifi) of audio, projection, and video systems.

MAINTENANCE

Off-hour maintenance of lighting and sound gear. Cleaning of filters, lamp life logging/replacing, etc.

VOICE ANNOUNCER

Announcer for TV spots, radio spots, etc. for church service and broadcast. Experience desired but not required. Must be “coachable”. We need male, female, young, senior, Black, Caucasian, Hispanic, etc. Auditions times to be announced.

SERVICE MINISTRY

BEREAVEMENT MINISTRY

Offers compassion, love and empathy to hurting individuals who have just lost a loved one.  Coordinates and delivers meals and assists with necessary telephone contacts, etc. 

COMMUNION PREPARATION / CLEANUP

Prepare communion elements prior to any communion service. Times to be determined by coordinator. Clean and store trays after the service.   

GREETERS

Greet and receive members and visitors upon entering the sanctuary, and provide bulletins and handouts. Give welcome gifts to the first time visitors after the service in the Visitor Center.    

HOSPITALITY

Serve refreshments in the Hospitality Room, as well as water and/or any other requests for stage ministries. To help set up/clean up, prepare food, and serve meals for guest ministers and at church functions, such as New Members Dinners, picnics on the grounds, church anniversaries and receptions, etc.

HOSTS

Hosts are stationed at the Welcome Centers for the purpose of welcoming all individuals as they enter the Church. They will direct parents with children to the appropriate classrooms and are available to answer any questions.  

KINGDOM MINISTRY MEALS

Provide meals to those who have returned home from the hospital after an illness, surgery or childbirth, or in the event of the death of an immediate family member. Please, call your Care Pastor with all requests. Members will be asked to bring meals to those within the same zip code area. 

SANCTUARY EXCELLENCE TEAM

Cleans up the sanctuary of all litter, collects bulletins, and restocks offering envelopes between services.

SHUTTLE SERVICE

The shuttle service will transport children after registration to and from KITN. It will also transport individuals to and from parking lots for services.

USHERS

Manages movement and activity that takes place within the sanctuary before, during and after services (i.e., seating arrangements, offerings, altar calls, noise and child control).

MEDIA DEPARTMENT

CASHIERS

Cashiers need to have the ability to handle money and work with a computer Point of Sale program and have a general knowledge of this ministry and it’s products. Positions are before and after each service. All volunteers in this department must be financial supporters and members of the church. 

DUPLICATORS

This is an entry-level position. You will be trained to operate the CD, DVD, and Tape duplicators. Positions are immediately following each service.

WEBSITE AND DATABASE MANAGEMENT

Must be very computer literate. Work is done from home.

OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT

NOW MEDICAL RESPONSE TEAM (NMRT)

First responders to emergency and medical events that may occur during CITN services and events. Volunteers will be trained here and certified in CPR , AED machine operation, and First Aid. You must arrive 15 minutes prior to you scheduled service or event to check in with Security and verify supplies and kits are available and ready for use. You must be able to pass a background check.

CITN SECURITY TEAM

Maintains a safe and secure environment in the sanctuary, the Executive area, all corridors and grounds; before - during- and 20 minutes after each service and/or event. Supports NMRT, by providing crowd control, safe first aid and rescue areas. Also assist in escorting City and County Medical and/or Fire Emergency personnel. Experience in Military and/or Police work is desirable. You must be able to pass an FBI background check.
