Street Jam Ministries

Street Jam is a weekly outreach program of Church In The Now. The purpose of this ministry is to reach out to communities where crime, poverty and violence have stolen the innocence and hope of our children. Each week we go and share a message of destiny and purpose to our future generation.

Street Jam

Street Jam is our weekly outreach program targeted for children in our less fortunate communities in Rockdale and Newton County. Our mobile outreach van is fully equipped with a sound system and stage. This "church-on-wheels" enables us to drive directly into the neighborhoods for outreach and discipleship.

An air of excitement is created when kids see the van driving in and hear the music from our sound stage. The next hour is packed with songs, games, object lessons, and prizes that are given out.

Our mobile church is a unique ministry tool that gives us a stable presence and entry into these otherwise inaccessible areas.

Visitation

Visitation is the heart of our ministry. While biblical teachings and group evangelism are the focus of Street Jam, visitation allows us to develop a personal relationship with the children and their parents.

By visiting their communities, we show the children and their families that we truly care and want to build long-term friendships. We not only share the gospel, but we take the time to learn about their circumstances, and offer encouragement, pray for them, and help meet their physical needs by providing needs, such as food, clothing and toys.

One Life at a Time Mentoring Program

We believe the most effective way to profoundly change the lives of the children and teenagers we work with is through mentoring relationships.

Children in each community are matched with our staff members for one-on-one mentoring relationships. These children are trained to assist services and given opportunities for leadership. Special events are planned monthly to reward those involved with the program.

Adopt a Community

At Church In The Now we believe in making a difference in our communities by improving the environment around us. With this in mind, we show God's love in practical, tangible ways. Monthly, we choose a community and take our staff and volunteers to perform service projects such as picking up trash or making home improvements. We also have a block party, where we feed the entire community and have exciting games for the kids.
