 REAL PEOPLE experiencing the REAL GOD in the REAL WORLD ®. This trademark of Church In The Now (CITN), founded in May, 1985 by Bishop Jim Earl Swilley, is the theme of his entire ministry. A graduate of Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida, he began preaching on the streets of Atlanta at age 13 and has continued to do so throughout the United States and in many countries on five continents.
He served for three years as the president of a branch of New Life Bible College, is a songwriter holding membership with ASCAP, has recorded multiple music projects, and is the author of eight books. In October of 1998, he was consecrated as a Bishop in the International Communion of Charismatic Churches (ICCC) and, in that capacity, provides oversight and covering to more than 170 churches and ministries.
Bishop Swilley is married to Debye, the Associate Pastor of CITN, and is the father of Jared, Christina, Judah and Jonah.

Debye Swilley is the wife of Bishop Jim Swilley and is the Associate Pastor and Administrator of Church In The Now. Together, she and Bishop Swilley have two sons.
Debye is an enthusiastic woman of God who knows how to encourage and motivate people. Her passion for God is contagious, and her compassion for people makes her an effective communicator. Audiences enjoy her humor and honesty as she draws from personal experience to make the Word of God come alive.
Her role of pastor’s wife, businesswoman, mother and stepmother is fulfilled with a determination to pursue God’s purpose in all areas of her life. To her congregation, she is an outward demonstration of the Word of God as she sets a standard for faith, excellence, godly submission, and character.
